Kicking off and shaking up!

Yo! Everybody! Niaje? (How is it going?) This is Joao and Jen live from Kenya. Kariobangi South is the place to be this April! There are new warriors being groomed right here! Watch out 2011 Warriors! Our guerreiros can DANCE!

Day One-Appreciative Gaze
Kariobangi South is an interesting township within the outskirts of Nairobi City. It has a blend of Kikuyu, Luo, Luhya, Kalenjin and many other Kenyan communities. KASWESHA youth group is
based in Mutarakwa estate and there are impressive youth with a background in IT-training!.. We met the big man in-ch
arge
Mr. James Njoroge, Ms. Milkah, Lydia, Eric, Carol, Lucy, only to name but a few of these energetic youth. They are so happy and eager to have an Oasis in
their community especially after Val explained to them about the Guinea Bissau Oasis game. What can we say? Elos team has the ability to create an i
nterest in young people. So a BIG
UP to all the Elos team back in Brasil!

First we started off with the Warriors dance of 'alma...mmmmh, deixa eu ver sua alma' with the correct footwork! It was an impressive introduction. The video says it all:

Appreciate Gaze
The youth from Kaswesha went around their community looking for beauties and this is what they found;
*boy peddling with interesting toy made from sticks and rubber
*garden around a house compound
*colourful buildings
*Repair shops
*beautiful schools and churches
*Children's smiles

And dear readers out there, JOAO was a beauty for this community!

Hua! JOAO! Friends, this is just a taste of what is going to be happening during this Oasis. So watch out for this space! Peace and out!

Her booth is always busy, I wonder why!
